I agree, Klickitat is a very nice ride! This was the
first time I'd been to it and it's lovely. Nice footing, 
wooded trails, views of Mt. Adams. It was large turnout-
11 in the 100, 17 in the 75, 64 in the 50 and 45 in
the 25. Even with 4 vets there were some long lines,
but everybody was pretty patient and there was plenty
of hay for the horses while they were in line. I'm not
real sure of all of the top finishers but the 100 was
won by Ona Lawrence and Dandy McCoy (18 yrs!) followed
by Kathy Hanson, Stephanie Irving, and Sue and Dennis
Summers. I think 9 of the 11 starters finished, the last
riders squeaked in just before dawn. Tom Jones won the 
50 miler, but I didn't catch the 75 and 25 results. 
I did a slow 50 with my new horse, Nature's Fantastic
(nice humble name :) This is the Orlov/Thoroughbred
cross that bucked me off at the beginning of the
Death Valley ride this winter, then proceeded to pull
my arms out of their sockets for 200 miles. I was
just going to ride him during the winter for Lari Shea 
and then send him back afterwards, but sort of got 
attached to the guy -  definitely a horse with ability 
and attitude. The rest of this season we're concentrating 
on keeping the brain engaged and the brakes working. Slow
slow rides with lots of schooling along the way.
So far, so good.
