Well, I have to say that I've never seen a horse die at a NATRC ride.
However, I HAVE seen one die at an AERC ride and he was definitely
overridden. I have also seen a couple of LD horses literally drop at their
trailers at an endurance ride. I STILL am not ready to lump all endurance
riders into one category - that of "horse killers". I know that we are far
from that (and I do mean "we"). I think the generalizations that go around
are detrimental to both sports and, like any stereotype, are damaging. I'm
actually getting tired of arguing (amazing!) so.... I give up!!!!! (Could be
that it's getting late and I'll perk up tomorrow morning -- if I do, look
out!).
