>> Release your horse in camp, hunt him down, rope him, flip him & hog tie him. (Uh Oh - better duck! I'm SURE that isn't good horsemanship for NATRC.)<< Ah, you see, you are wrong! A NATRC trained rider would have an advantage here. First, we would have tied with a safety release knot....quicker to untie the horse. He would get that head start while the rest of you are trying to open that corral which has to be tied, taped and bungee corded shut to keep the horse from escaping.(see, advantage to tying over corrals) Since NATRC riders are so good at finding where the judges are hiding in the bushes, hunting down ones own horse would be a breeze. We would not have to rope him, as once we found him, we would just say "STAND". (just like we make them do for every judged mount) And of course the hog tying would not be poor horsemanship if of course you used the proper knot, that was safe. So again, NATRC training would have an advantage over those without.<grin> Jonni in California off to work horses........ =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
