If you want to be a true Ridecamper, though, you must also learn what
"calvary" and "calvery" mean.

Absolutely. One of the most important things about riding endurance is
making a statement in full color. Greys are so popular in endurance
primarily because blue and purple are so popular with endurance riders,
and those colors look best on grey horses. If your taste runs to "warm"
colors, however, you need a bay like I have (neon orange tack with yellow
accents is absolutely *gorgeous* on that coppery coat of his), or certain
chestnuts would also work. If you really want to compete on that
Icelandic, which I seem to think are always palominos, is this true? --
then you need to choose your colors right now, some color that will look
good with his coat, and find an interim horse to ride that can wear the
same colors and look good.
