My filly tried throwing her head up to get away from me when I wanted to
bit her up too. Since A.) she's going to be quite tall and long necked
when she's done growing and B.) there's no time to fight in the dark
when you're tacking up for competition, I decided to make taking the bit
such a pleasurable experience that it would be no struggle at all. It's
simple. Salina only gets her favorite peppermint treats when she puts
her head down to get her bit. It's amazing how quickly they figure
things out!
