Pregnant mares
To go along with what Bob Morris said, one of my aunts who ran marathons
every so often (I *still* don't know how *anyone* can run 25 miles!!) had
her first child twelve or so years ago. She was running five miles in 45
minutes every morning until her seventh month of pregnancy, and then she
"toned it down" a bit. She had a very healthy baby girl.
Besides that, isn't there *tons* of information showing that physically
fit people and animals have easier labors and faster recoveries after giving
birth?
Sarah and Elliot, who is a gelding and doesn't
have to worry about this stuff :)
