It was a rule that some rides threw in (which is perfectly legal as long as they inform the participants before the event), but never an AERC rule. If it was, it changed before 1980.

Have they changed the AERC rules on this? I was sure it USED to be a
rule that pregnant mares could NOT enter AERC sanctioned rides. Of
course, the rules DO change and I might have missed it.....Maureen
