oregon trail

the oregonians will tell you about the trail - and yes, it is mostly a tarmac road.

another sugestion - the Pacific Crest Trail - that would take you from Baja (I think) up into
Canada.  Horses can go on it.  It comes up through the Cascades.  Would be a very exciting ride to
make.
