dosing with herbs
Dawna,
The problem is the tablets. Why not use bulk herbs. They are much less
expensive and a lot easier to use. We usually just add the herbal products
directly to the grain. If I'm really concerned that a particular herb is
very fine (ground) and might sift to the bottom or blow away, then I might
add a little oil to make it stick to the grain to insure that it gets
consumed.
Most good health food stores carry bulk herbs in either crushed or ground
form. They are usually packaged in baggies and have very little odor.
Because of the significant cost savings, many people buy herbs this way for
human use and then make their own capsules using blank jelcaps. Look in the
phone book for a store that advertizes "bulk herbs".
PS to Bill and De--Cayenne (Capsicum in homeopathic form) is considered a
frontline circulatory stimulant. It is used to increase circulation, ward
off colds, fight congestion and has some anti-microbial properties. I could
understand Dawna using it for a horse with a "snotty" nose but don't know
why Betty chose it for fly repellent. Betty--why cayenne?
