Helmets
Afriend of mine who is not on line asked me to share her experience with
everyone in the hopes that it will get just a few more people to wear their
helmets. She decided to just go "for a quick ride" with another friend. The
ride was going to be a quick one so they wouldn't need their helmets, right?
She and this friend were racing down a gravel road when her saddle started
falling apart. She came off and split her head open. This was over a year
ago, and after countless medications, mri's, and cat scans, she still has
memory, balance and nausea problems. She has to wear a patch behind her ear
most of the time. She considers herself lucky that it wasn't much worse, but
she wishes she could turn back time and she would have had the helmet on. She
also would like me to warn anyone not wearing one that if a short blonde
woman named Dale goes off on them and physically jams a helmet on their head
at a ride, she simply reacting from her own experience. PLEASE WEAR YOUR
HELMETS!
