Proud flesh

Lesions with proud flesh won't heal until the granulation tissue is reduced
a bunch. Once is is pretty flat, the skin will gradually grow over and
heal it. Our vet says a spritz of over-the-counter hydrocortisone spray is
the easiest way to reduce it. Don't over-do it, spray the wound, wait a
day or so and see if you need to spray it again, etc. Once you have the
mass reduced to fairly flat, don't spray it unless it starts to grow again.
Much harder to explain than to do <G>.
