Hello All,
Klassy is on her 2nd course of doxycyclian [46 tabs daily!] in
treatment of Lyme disease. We are giving her ProBios 2x daily to
maintain gut function. She appears to have a bit of colic though
when on the atiobiotics. She is pooping well, but has terrible gas:
I can hear her gut rumbling, and then she groans and seems to burp.
Does not eat her hay but eats grass [she's actually gettting FAT with
this lack of work, and lush pasture]. My question is this, is it the
ProBios causing the gas or the antiobiotics? Should I increase or
decrease the microorganisms?
Thanks!!!
PS, sadly she is still lame [in the pelvis or groin area] and our
next step is to bring her to Cornell for a bone scan. We don't know
if the lameness is secondary to the Lyme or due to fooling around
in the pasture, but it's been 2 months. I am completely paranoid
about TICKS now!!
