Re: RC: arab or cross??
Why would you get a better bone and hardiness from an arab cross
over
a pure bred Arab? Arabs are know not only for their great
recoveries,
but also for good bone and hardiness. The more muscle and mass
to a horse
the faster they will normally tire. Lots of reasons for that,
and there
is always exceptions to the rule, but generally that is true.
Plus a
good arab will have lots of good bone. I believe that is why the
top
endurance horses in the world are Arabians. They have everything
to be
a top endurance horse. Now that does not mean that every Arab is
a good
endurance horse just because they are an Arab. Plus that also
does not
mean you will not find good endurance horses that are arab
crosses, but
I am going to have to side with your husband on this one. If I
wanted a
competitive horse and wanted to train to ride in the top 5. I
would start
by looking at pure bred Arabs, that are bred for endurance. And
know what you are looking for.
JMHO,
Lynette from ND, will the rain ever stop and the sun come out?
We have farmers
that are in serious trouble here. The last day for getting some
of their best
cash crops in was yesterday and the fields are still under
water. Some were out
yesterday flying planes over their fields dropping seeds on the
land, hoping
that some of it will sprout. We have 26 counties that are asking
for flood relief and help... And the rivers keep on raising and
the rain keeps on coming.........In ND, there is not too many
places for the water to go. A disadvantage to having a lot of
flat land.
