Tick control
Okay, I'm going to try Sarah's idea of putting tick collars on my gelding's
legs when he's not under saddle. I know to put them above the fetlock to
avoid pastern scratches.
Questions:
1) Are there chemicals found in some collars that are known to cause
problems with equines? My KV Vet Supply catalog has collars that use
amitraz, Precor (IGR), or diazinon.
2) Is there a difference (besides size) between the dog and cat collars?
3) Will any of these chemicals be absorbed and then show up as a violation
in a drug test?
Thanks.
