Missing Horses/branding

Wait a minute...where did this come from?  Did I miss something?  SEVEN
disappeared and then reappeared?  That's 2 loads for most
thieves....could this have possibly been an alien abduction?

O.K.  this gets me started thinking AGAIN.  I've wanted to brand my
horses for some time now.  The usual freeze brand would be O.K. but I'd
also like something on the hip that could be easily described to a
policeman.  If I have a gray horse branded, and they have to do it
thoroughly enough to see that hair doesn't grow back...will he be sore
and for how long?

Lately, since so many people are getting offers from the Middle East for
their good horses and they tend to offer too much to turn down, I've been
seriously considering a LARGE Star of David on one hip and a fish on the
other.  I thought that might discourage the offers.
