Hi John!
Although this question wasn't addressed to me, I can't resist answering
since I'm the happy owner of a "half."
My filly is 3/4 Arab, 1/8 Saddlebred, 1/8 maybe-stock-horse. I went
looking for size when I bought her and I got size along with an Arab
mind, Saddlebred character (silliness), and a round behind (stock horse
influence?). When she matures, I plan to use her for distance riding
(AHAO style CTR and endurance) and her pedigree on both sides suggests
that she should do well (assuming the rider variables are shaped up by
then <vbg>).
I love purebreds (belonging to friends), but prefer a good Arab cross
for me. I have size, trainability and good bloodlines in my price range.
There are great Arabs out there, but I wouldn't overlook a crossbred for
the characteristics I want.
Just my $.02
Deanna
