That is making an assumption that the heavyweights are equally fit and ready
to ride, which in my experience is far from true. There are an awful lot of
folks who are heavyweights because we are overweight and underconditioned,
and we HAVE to ride slower because we simply can't make the old bod work the
way it used to. (I'm not quite a HW, but I'm knockin' on the door, and
believe me, my horse is far more capable of carrying me than I am of riding
him!) The folks who are truly big but not fat don't seem to have a bit of
difficulty flying right by. As a number cruncher, you know very well that
the numbers don't mean squat unless you have eliminated the variables--too
many really OBVIOUS variables here...
