[Fwd: RC: What kind of stallion?]

---- Begin included message ----
Wow! I totally disagree!

> <I'd go with the stallion with the endurance record. Pedigrees don't
> perform....>

If that was the case, then all of the performance programs developed by
all breeders of all breeds are a waste of time and money! Pedigrees
don't perform if they are are haphazard with no consistency..... The King
Ranch in Texas (QH), Al-Marah Arabians in Arizona, Rushcreek Land and
Cattle Company, Thoroughbred farms all over the world...beef and dairy
programs where performance of weight gain/ milk production and well
conformed females who won't break down because of bad legs, poor udder
attachment, breeding problems, etc......instead stay productive in the
herd for years......cutting horses are chosen for not only conformation,
but by certain bloodlines that tend to have more 'cow' than others...some
lines have more heart, more staying power......better recovery rates,
more efficient 'engines'.....and others way too numerous to mention will
prove you wrong.

Better to do serious research on an animal that you will have time and
money into if you are SERIOUS about any endeavor....because blood does
tell! Genetics is a serious study in practicality and predictability.
If you are buying, you look to increase your chance of getting to the top
by the selection of the animal to the job at hand.

Nuff said.........let the flaming begin!
