Paul asks out of curiosity: How high is the pommel? (Low as say a
regular english, or higher?) We have a with Hungarian and a S.
American military saddle - the latter obviously a copy of the European
military saddles. The Hungarian we have totally breaks down the way you
describe. It is, however, very heavy. Lots of metal on it. Paul
seriously thinks you have something quite valuable.
In the early part of WWII they had quite a bit of horse drawn artillery,
your saddle probably would have been used with artillery teams.
Would you like to trade it for a McClellan (authentic) with a horn?
Missing one stirrup, though. Just kidding - we're keeping it!
