RC: FW: THE GREAT "GAS OUT"
And here in the Texas panhandle and Oklahoma they are yanking out quite
a bit of oil pipe and shutting down the oil pumpers. It costs the
producers more per barrel to produce oil than what they could sell it
for. Where I am at (Lubbock, Texas) the economy is in for a big
downturn, as cotton, cattle, and oil all had slumping prices at the same
time.
I am curious... how do the Ridecampers in Australia handle "financing"
your endurance rides with the current fuel prices? Are they far and few
in between, or are there plenty of local rides? Tow vehicles? Around
here, the closest ride I know of is hours away, unless you want to do a
"solo" ride against the flying tumbleweeds (Hey! How come that tumbler
doesn't have to go through a P&R check and hold?).
Happy trails folks,
Kim (and Lee, who has acquired a taste for tumbleweeds.)
