How long to use Biotin?

I have a boarder's horse on Biotin.  He is coming 3 in June and has just
about the worst feet I've ever seen on a horse.  (He is a Tn. Walker).
The Biotin is working well.  Hooves are about half grown out now and the
new growth area is looking good.  Question is:  after the entire hoof
has grown out, is it necessary to continue giving him Biotin?
