As Sarah said, Carolyn Stull at UC Davis and Anne Rodiek at CSU Fresno have
really done the definitive (on-going) work in this area.  I think some of
their conclusions are a little controversial (or at least are triggering a
lot of discussion in the academic community), but nothing wrong with that.
I'll see what I can find in the journals and try to summarize it to RC.
