Without a doubt tell her she can't ride with you again.  With a person like
that who cares if you offend her, she surely didn't care what she was doing to
her horse.  The woman obviously has no sense of how to treat an animal.  Maybe
if someone came straight out and told her what she was doing, she would shape
up.  Then again, she may just get mad at you and never talk to you again.
Solves the problem of her wanting to ride with the group again doesn't it.

I can't stand that type of mistreatment of an animal and would've told her off
on the trail.  Granted, that doesn't make me a lot of friends with people like
that, but when they treat their animals with such disrespect, I don't want to
be their friend.
