top ten manners
I end up in the top ten about 95% of the time. I don't feel this gives me
an excuse for bad manners. IMO, the people and horses running up front
should be even better representatives of the sport. Luckily here in the SE
region most of the top tenners feel the same way. Nothing has made me
madder than the time I stopped to hold another riders horse for her to put
an easy boot on for 10 minutes. We were running 1st and 2nd. She came out
of the last vet check 15 minutes behind me, caught up and blew by me
without warning. No mention of passing, no calling out "on your right"
etc. This could have ended up dangerous for her and me if my horse had
spooked. Yes she came in first but I don't think it excuses her behavior.
(I got my revenge - my horse got best condition) You can ride in front and
still have manners.
