Treat training
One thing I am noticing (newbie that I am... at least to endurance) is
that many people's horses seem to be "treat trained". I have raised
four foals and none of them know what a "treat" is including my young
stallion. It wasn't particularly intentional on my part (except in the
case of the stallion), but I have never hand fed my horses much of
anything. Now when I try, they look at me as though I'm POISONING
them. So, I guess I should work on that to make things like feeding
handfuls of grain on the fly a bit easier. Any thoughts or suggestions?
