I'm wondering about using breaching harness like is used with

When you're on the flat, a crupper is loose. When the horse drops his
croup and brings his rear end under him to go downhill it tightens up.
Breeching does the opposite. If you're going downhill and he drops his
croup and brings his rear under him the breeching will be loose so that
when he gets on the flat, if the saddle has slid forward, the breeching
will be tight and rub the hips.
Why mess with a good thing? Cruppers are great. It looks more
uncomfortable than it is. I haven't had a horse yet that minded.
