RE: everyday easyboots

Chelle, I wanted to comment on your mare loosing her shoes in the pasture,
etc. I have a wonderful gelding who for the past two years has managed to
pull of at least on shoe between farrier appointments for the last two
years. We tried everything, including the techniques you mentioned. We
even tried to put him into a smaller shoe so that he had nothing to grab.
Still no luck. I was very happy with my farrier, he seemed to be
conscientious and seemed to do a good job. However after much frustration
advice from another farrier, I changed to a different farrier. The farrier
who gave me the advice was from the Anvil website and he said that somehow
my horse was not level somewhere and he was sure that if I could get the
horse leveled properly (much more technical than this) he wouldn't pull his
shoes off.

Since changing farriers, I have had no problem, for the first time in two
years my horse keep all four shoes on for eight weeks. I was elated. This
horse plays hard and works hard, his behavior hasn't changed, but the
farrier made all the difference. Just a thought if nothing else seems to
work. By the way, my horse is now in a size bigger shoe too.

Dawna
