Yes, that does cause concern. The offsetting aspects are that there are MANY
vet checks in a 100-miler providing opportunity to pull the horses being
overridden, the pace is more aerobic, the riders have some experience, the
horses are fit, and the veterinary talent there for not only evaluation but
also treatment if necessary is far beyond the scope of what the average RM can
provide for the local 25-miler.
