It's probably more true that if YOU wait till you're ready for your first 50
you'll wait for the rest of your life! Just DO IT! (while making sure you
don't hurt your horse -- which is what your gut instinct and the vet judges
are for!). If you're in doubt try some 2 day 50's (NATRC, ECTRA or whatever).
Those will give you a good indicator if you can "go the distance".
