Pro-Burst theoretically reduces lactic acid accumulation, which doesn't
apply to most endurance horses, anyway. Jeannie Waldron did a talk at Reno
demonstrating no benefit and in looking at the references supplied by
Pro-Burst supporting their product, most of the references simply cite
evidence that lactates do accumulate during certain types of exercise,
etc---not evidence that this product works for endurance horses. An
important difference.
Carbo-Charge is a source of quickly available sugars to maintain plasma
glucose during exercise, an ENTIRELY different thing. Many endurance people
are using it successfully, others don't reports results quite as good. The
final word on it's effects are still out, but it looks promising. Other
people on the list can describe their particular protocol. Worth
experimenting with. The Pro-Burst, forget it, IMO. I got a card in the
raffle for some at Reno and threw it away.
Good luck!
