mohair girths
Hi,
About the mohair girths, my family has always made our own girths. We buy
the mohair strings at the feed store and then reuse the old buckles. It's
really very simple, all that is needed is mohair strings of the right size,
the girth buckles off an old girth and a 2 x 4 of the correct length with a
nail in each end to stretch it on while you are restringing. Could be that
mohair is more readily available down here, we have lots of Angora goat
ranchers in Texas... An added benefit is you can have any color you want,
just dye it! :-)
