Colorado BCH plug
Well gang,
I put my money where my keyboard has been and joined the BCH group in
my area. I am pleased so far. They meet once a month on Thurs. eve
(attendence is optional) and try to have trail work days once a month.
They just had their Aug. trail work day Sunday. I enjoyed it and I think
it was a good change of pace for Grey - he needs to exercise his "patience
muscle" more than I normally ask him to. There are actually 4 BCH groups
in Colorado, with groups in the Pueblo, 4 corners, Denver Front Range, and
Canon City areas. Canon City is the group on the list I posted before, I
joined the Front Range group - contact Scott Schomer (303-278-0920) or
Marsh Link (303-985-7985.) I don't have contact info for the Pueblo or
4 corners group but you could ask the Canon City contact - thats how I got
the front range #'s. The dues are only $15, or $20 for family.
The Canon City groups contact is # 719-372-0251. There are BCH groups in
several states - a list of contacts was posted to ridecamp on Aug 11. I
think its a great way to work towards keeping trails open to horses.

P.S. I am getting a great side benefit. Lots of contacts and information
about trailheads. Super for me because I do not like to guess whether I can
park a pick-up and trailer someplace so I have ended up just riding the same
familiar trails a lot instead of trying new ones.
