I don't feed any concentrate within 8 hours of the beginning of the ride.
So the last meal is right before I go to bed. The horses have plenty of
hay. If I wake up during the night - I always wake up before a ride - then
I check to make sure there is sufficient hay.
This way I can keep peace with my crew. It is very important to keep peace
with you crew. At 12:30 AM after 95 miles when it is cold and raining it is
very importnat not to haved pissed off you crew.
