crape myrtle and horses

I would like to know if the Crape Myrtle (Lagerstroemia indica) is a
tree that can have horses near it. Are they allergic to it, are the
leaves poisonious? This tree would be planted at a stable where there
are alot of horse that would come in contact with it. Please reply
