HELP - Girth Problem
Hi Leonard:
I have had this same problem with my electrode and one of my horses girth
area. I am sure it is because of the thicker elctrode, as I never had this
problem with the thinner electrodes.
A friend of mine recommended that I use one of those terrycloth tennis
wrist things instead of velcro and put that around the girth. I haven't
done this yet, but definitely will before the next longer ride. Also,
depending upon your girth you may be able to do what I've seen some riders
do - sew the electrode patch on. That elminates the need for the velcro,
or something else to hold the electrode in place. Kind of hard to do
though if you are using neoprene or biothane.
I try and move where I put the electrodes each time. Otherwise, my
chestnut horse is so sensitive he'll get white hairs growing in. He gets
white hairs on the top of his poll where his headstall goes too (stripes!).
btw, aloe vera gel works great for getting contact with the electrodes. I
always get the kind that is alcohol free.
Happy Trails,
