This horse will get better, but it's going to be a slow process and there will
likely be some periods of soreness involved. Stretching may help, but the kind
of exercise that will rehabilitate is going to be hills--gently at first, then
increasingly strenuous. We've had two or three such injuries come to the
barn--what you don't want is the temporarily shortened muscle to become so
stiff that you can't do anything serious with the horse.
Jumping may be out, though.
