A note of caution on LD statistics

I saw the note on ridecamp with

I believe the Board of Directors meeting info said 35% of the starts are LD.
Since a fair number of LD entries are not members of the AERC - this does not
mean that 35% of the AERC members are LD riders.

If there were a good awards program and recognition for them - it might be a lot
more likely that these would all become members though.
