Pick your desert.  They all stay fine during the wet season. (Even El Nino).
My favorite is Joshua Tree National Monument,near Palm Springs.  A great 30
mile loop out of the horse camp.  Never a problem, no matter how much rain.
Another sure fire riding place is La Purisima Mission near Lompoc (check the
map).  Lots of trail, but you have to do some looping around to get the
mileage, again never impacted by rain.  Happy Trails!
