Horsey hoots
This January is the second annual PVPHA Cowboy Poetry Night at the Empty
Saddle Club in Rolling Hills Estates, California. Last year I stole the
show by reciting Bill Fortner's "City Gal's Ride". This year I plan on
once again being the star of the show by singing the best of the Horsey
Hoot verses with two of my own at the end.
Oh Lord, won't you buy me a horse with some guts.
This spooking and balking is driving me nuts.
She backs herself off cliffs just to avoid trails with ruts.
Oh Lord, won't you buy me a horse with some guts.
Oh Lord, won't you buy me a shiney new truck.
I love my Trooper, but the load capacity sucks.
If I had more brains than a duck I'd sell that Ol' Buck....skin
And Lord, I'D buy me a Mercedes Benz.
Now, if only I could sing !! What the heck, Janis Joplin couldn't
either!
