Dear "Mr. Walton:"
This was very, very good! I don't know who's hiding behind that
e-mail handle, but I can finally say -- indeed, with some amazement! -- that
I've met my RideCamp match. (Angie is "small potatoes," but she helps to
keep me in practice ... good thing I don't have the time to monitor all her
posts -- it might give her an inferiority complex). Congratulations on your
accomplishment! :))
P.S. -- Could you please send me some of those great car-washing sponges
found in the automotive department?
Enduringly,
Lynda Corry

Lynda: My wife brought the exchange between you and Angie McGhee on
Ridecamp to my attention. We have several horses on our farm outside of
Bentonville, Arkansas and my wife has been an avid follower of endurance on
Ridecamp. Of course I must caution you that any commercial use of the
name Wal-Mart is strictly prohibited.
As you know, Wal-Mart has been actively promoting outdoor sports for some
time, including a substantial commitment to fishing and hunting. Adding an
equestrian line to our existing products would compliment current lines.
Outdoor active wear is certainly of significant interest to us.
While our starting salaries don't approach the $125,000.33 referred to in
your email, I would appreciate it if you would take some time to fill out
the enclosed resume and email it back to me. Bentonville, Arkansas is
lovely place not far from the splendor of the Ozarks. Fishing, hunting and
horseback riding are very much part of our state tradition. Perhaps we
could supplement your salary with a stipend from our farm--my wife and four
daughters would love some endurance coaching.
Again, thank you for your interest in and loyal support of Wal-Mart and
its products. I personally look forward to hearing from you.
S. Robson Walton, Chairman of the Board.
Note: This resume submittal form is for positions in
the Corporate Office in Bentonville, AR only. For jobs at your area
Wal-Mart, Supercenter, or SAM'S Club, please apply locally.
