Surprise! No pain 2nd ride!

Fellow RideCampers.
I am SOOOOO happy! I rode the 30 at LongLeaf last week. Had to find
a new entrance to school where I teach to avoid those nasty stairs.
Ouch. Ouch. Ouch. etc. My sweet Ayla & I did the 25 at RiverRun this
Sat. (Thanks a billion Samm Bartee for encouraging me to go for it &
Happy Birthday, too!) My wind was so much better, actually enjoyed the
beautiful trails & smooth sand roads and saw those pretty little orange
trumpet flowers along the way. I could walk and move and everything.
Took the most steps with a great smile.
So, newbies and returnees (like me - been away for 3 years) there IS
hope. If you can "endure" the pain the first time, the second is EZ! I
am a 46 year old music teacher & Ph.D. student. Sedentary was my
middle name. Friends like Samm and Cathy and great info & humor from
RideCamp make me think my new middle name might just be "GoGirl."
(I guess I could have exercised & stuff, but I just conditioned Ayla &
worked. She had great recoveries at both rides. If one of us is to get
the short shrift, it will always be me.)

Deborah Barber & Ayla (Yeah! I get to go!) & Keely QH (Yeah! You get to
go!)
