hair loss
Hi,
I'm hoping someone can suggest a possible cause for mane/tail hair
thinning in an otherwise normal-coated horse. He's an 18 year old Appy
gelding who has been on thyro-L for about a year, is regularly wormed,
has a tendency to founder and put on weight (hence the reason for putting
him on Thyro-L.) His health is fine in every other way, and he competes
nicely in ctr. His mane & tail used to be so thick I had to pull it to
get it groomable, but now it is ridiculously thin. There are no signs of
rubbing. His feet are fine also. This thinning has occurred over the past
6 months. The only feed change has been the addition of beet pulp, but I
doubt that has anything to do with this. Any suggestions? Thanks.
