I would like to respond to your statement on ORTHO-FLEX saddles. The
white hairs you saw behind the withers take about a year to start. In
most cases it was from an ill fitting saddle prior to the use of the
Ortho-flex being used. Dry spots on a Ortho-flex are quite common and do
not indicate a bad fit. I am a dealer for Ortho-flex saddles and know
from experience that the flex system will leave dry spots from time to
time. This does not mean the saddle has a problem. It is working
properly. A standard saddle ditrubutes your weight over approximately 33
square inches, and Ortho-flex system distributes your weight over 88
square inches. Quite a difference is size? The flex system does not stay
ridged like a saddle tree on your horses back. The Ortho-Flex uses a
tree the same as anyother saddle, the difference is in the flex panel
system. We have used the Ortho-flex saddles on horses that were lame and
sore backed from standard saddles. These horses have performed better
than ever and showed no signs of problems. I know I will probably open
myself up for ever problem that people have had with an Ortho-flex. In
almost ever case that I have had the opportunity to work with we have
solved the problem. 90% of the problems are lack of education on the
proper way to use the Ortho-flex or rider problems. 10% are problems
with the horse that no other saddle would solve the problem with. Out of
the 10% we can solve most of the problems. Our e-mail is jgranch@gte.net
and I will try to help any of you who are having problems if possible.
Thanks,
Gary
