My friend Eben (who I met on rec.eq when he was moving out here to
CA) gets his stuff from bike shops. He has some wonderfull little
battery operated *flashing* lights with built in clips and reflective
velcro bands. I've just started to have to walk the Magnum horse
after dark one night a week and I'm going out to get my own set this
weekend. Since these are make for bike riders you do need to be a
little inventive on how to attach them to a horse.

Also, a couple women walk their dogs into town early morning (Starbucks)
and they wear those bright orange / yellow reflective vests. I certainly
see them. They don't think they look stupid. I don't think these vests
are very expensive.

The only thing I can see is not getting enough wraps and lights. We
put 3 lights and a couple reflective strips on friend and her horse
for a dusk ride back last night. (She rode, we trailered) The lights
helped a lot, but were lost in the expanse of the beast.

OK... bike shops. Are we going to see these things starting to show
up in "Go the Distance", "SporTack", "Australian Connection", "Horses
Dacor", "Animal Tracker", "VMAX", et al catalogs? (hint-hint)
