and I suppose riding does. Personally I'll continue to run because I like it
and I don't have access to a pool. I just read a medical article that says
that arthritis in the knees may be caused by weak muscles around the knee
joint. Makes sense I guess- no support so the joint takes all the impact. Just
something to think about. -Amy

I tend to think the same way, owning a knee that hit the pavement
about 25 years ago (run away horse, riding bareback!). Only times
it bothers me is riding-especially any long walking rides. As long
as I ride faster, and do some posting, and getting off and walk, it
does fine. When I was running so much last year, I also felt the
knee was stronger, and I had less problems from riding.
Karen-the hardest thing about running is putting on the shoes and
heading out the door!
