Put a regular pager in one of the saddle bags. You can page the
horse and the finder would hear the page and call you.
This depends on a certain amount of luck and also clear thinking
and honesty on the part of the finder ("Duh, maybe that's the
number of this lost horse's owner?").
I don't think those car locator things have enough range for this
application, even though mall parking lots can seem awfully big
when you're tired and don't remember where you parked. :-)
