I always thought engine heat was what you need to look out for, but a trip up
to Yosemite (7000' elev.) and back overheated my tranny and most of the fluid
went out the vent, leaving me with sufficient damage that the transmission
has to be replaced.
Engine was fine, though. It's a '92 Chevy 454 3/4 T with towing package
carrying big camper and modest 2-horse with one pony aboard.
I'm told there is an aftermarket product that can increase cooling capacity
of transmission. Anyone know what this is, how it works, where to get it?
