a person who visits us fairly often thinks she rides much better than she
actually does and so does not have the normal caution of a
beginning/intermediate rider. she likes to ride my retired campaigner and
'Boy - can he fly!'

She flat-out refuses to wear a helmet

My thoughts - no helmet - no riding

This is my mother-in-law and my husband does not think she should have to
wear one.
