A nice alternative is giving you an entry to the next years ride. If I can't
get my money back, and entry for the next ride is OKAY.

One time I was REALLY sick (at home) and could not attend ride. I phoned to
tell them, but never got ANYTHING back. It did not make me feel good about
ride management. It was an endurance ride which had no limit and was always
moderately attended. I did come the next year anyway...however, they don't
even hold the ride anymore.
