This my first posting on something non nutritional, but I guess I
feel strongly about this topic. I'm new to the sport and perhaps I
don't have a good feel for its evolution but I've always thought that
it was a test of the fitness and the teamwork of both horse and
rider. I agree that there would probably be a bias towards lighter
and more fit riders, but lets face it, in any endurance sport excess
weight results generally in slower performances. This shouldn't
prohibit anyone in reasonably good health who can ride from going out
and enjoying the event, and setting and meeting their own
personal goals, although it may mean they won't win.
